Cilician See to Take Part in Vatican Meeting

ANTELIAS–Lebanon–The Catholicosate of the Holy See of Cilicia will be among a group of religious denominations and leaders taking part in an international inter-faith conference scheduled to begin Sunday in the Vatican.

The conference will aim to address issues related to finding a common ground in resolving mutual problems facing society at the brink of the third millennium.

His Holiness Aram I–Catholicos of the Holy See of Cilicia has appointed Lebanon Prelate Right Rev. Gegham Khatcherian to represent the Cilician See at the conference.

More than 200 individuals are slated to take part in the conference–with 80 representing various Christian denominations–while another 120 will represent other religions.

The opening and closing ceremonies will be officiated over by Pope John Paul II. At the conclusion of the meeting a public statement is expected to be issued.
