Moscow State Student Films Shown in Yerevan Festival

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Moscow State Institute of Cinematography student films were shown at a festival held in Yerevan November 5 and 6 on the occasion of the institute’s 80th anniversary.

President of the Union of Cinematographers of Armenia Sergey Israelian noted out that the festival will enable Armenian students to get acquainted with the works of their Russian counterparts.

A third-year student of the film school Vardan Hakobian brought about 20 short films produced by the school’s students to Yerevan. He handed Israelian–also a graduate from the school–a message from the institute’s Rector A. Novikov’s. Hakobian pointed out that the festival–which was to have been held as far back as last year–is a present to all the film school’s graduates residing in Armenia. He also reported that some of the films that were brought to Yerevan won over 25 prizes. Among the films demonstrated during the festival were two films produced by the Armenian students–Vardan Hakobian and Anna Melikian.
