YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Ten persons were detained in connection with the tragic events that occurred at the Armenian parliament on October 27–chief of the department of investigations of the Armenian Military Prosecutor’s Office Artak Haroutiunian told Noyan Tapan. Besides Nairi and Karen Hounanian–Derenik Bejanian–Edward Grigorian and Vram Galstian against–to whom charges had been made earlier–Director of the Logos Polling Center Nairi Badalian was also detained on charges of aiding and abetting the terrorist act.
Haroutiunian ruled out the presence of any pressure on the defendants and assured the public that they do not complain about their health.
Haroutiunian did not reveal the names of the remaining detainees to protect their identities. All of the detainees have been charged with aiding and abetting the terrorist act and complicity to murder under aggravating circumstances. One of the detainees is also accused of illegal possession of arms. Haroutiunian denied press reports alleging that 3,000 cartridges had been found at the scene of the crime.
Haroutiunian found it difficult to answer how long the investigation will take–saying that at present the materials of the case make up five volumes.
