British Ambassador Parliament Speaker Call for Better Relations

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–"Armenian-British mutually advantageous political and economic cooperation should be developed–and the deepening of the interparliamentary relations and mutual visits of parliamentary delegations will promote this process," Speaker of the Armenian National Assembly Armen Khachatrian said during his meeting with British Ambassador to Armenia Timothy Jones December 20.

Khachatrian pointed out the importance of expanding Armenian-British relations–expressing optimism that Ambassador Jones will do everything in his power to promote these relations. He informed the British ambassador of the Armenian-British friendship group operating in the Armenian Parliament. Khachatrian promised the Parliament’s support in the British Embassy’s activities and expressed optimism that the cooperation with the representatives of the country with old parliamentary traditions will be effective.

In his turn the British diplomat stated his intention to carry out serious work in developing Armenian-British relations which cover different spheres of cooperation. Jones expressed optimism that bilateral relations are promising.
