Carolans Donate $50 000 to Western Prelacy

LOS ANGELES–His Grace Bishop Moushegh Mardirossian–Prelate of the Western Prelacy–the Religious and Executive Councils announced that on the occasion of the New Year and Christmas–prominent philanthropists–Mr. and Mrs. Richard & Tina Carolan have generously donated $50,000 to the Western Prelacy. Upon their request–$25,000 of the sum will be assigned to the Prelacy’s New Building Fund–and the remainder as a donation to the Prelacy.

Philanthropists Richard and Tina Carolan have been active figures in the Armenian community–participating in various facets of community life. The Carolans have in the past made numerous donations in participation of the Prelacy’s educational and religious programs. In addition to their many donations–the Carolans have donated a sum of $125,000 to the Prelacy New Building Fund. In honor of their great service to the Armenian community and the Armenian Apostolic Church–their names have also been registered on the Golden List of benefactors of the Great House of Cilicia.

In response to the Prelate’s Christmas dinner invitation–the Carolans expressed their regrets of not being able to attend. His Grace the Prelate thanked the benefactors for their generosity and wished them success in their future endeavors. He also stressed that "through the unwavering support of benefactors like the Carolans who willingly come forward year after year with a multitude of donations–the Prelacy is able to fund successful educational and religious programs."

"On behalf of the Prelate–the Religious and the Executive Councils of the Western Prelacy–we extend our heartfelt thanks to Mr. & Mrs. Richard and Tina Carolans and wish them good health and prosperity throughout the new century," the prelacy announced.
