Harutunian Says Reforms Are Needed in Ministry of Interior

YEREVAN (Armenpress)–Armenian interior minister Hayk Harutunian told Armenpress that some studies are underway in the ministry to decide whether the system needs structural changes.

He said that trial structural changes had been made in one department. "After the studies are completed we will decide what action needs to be taken," he said. In his words–structural improvemen’s are needed in the criminal investigation department.

Harutunian dismissed the allegations that the aggregate number of interior employees is higher than needed. He also said that a draft law on police is awaiting to be debated in parliament.
