Oskanian to Visit Baltic States

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Armenian Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanian is to go on an official visit to Lithuania–Latvia and Estonia March 13-17. On the visit’s agenda are the issues of establishing a dialogue as part of Armenia’s integration into European structures–and the development of economic relations with the Baltic states.

On Monday morning Oskanian is to arrive in Vilnius where he is scheduled to hold a number of meetings with Estonian President Valdas Adamkus–Chairman of the Estonian Seim Vitautas Landsbergis–Prime Minister Andrius Kubelius–and Foreign Minister Algirdas Saudargas. On March 14–the Armenian foreign minister is also to hold a meeting with representatives of the local Armenian community.

On Tuesday evening Oskanian will leave for Riga. On March 15–he is to meet with Latvian President Vaira Vike-Freiberg–Vice-Speaker of the Latvian Seim Rikhard Piks and Foreign Minister Indulis Berzins. Oskanian is also to hold a meeting with representatives of the Latvian Armenian community.

On Thursday morning–Oskanian will leave for Tallinn to hold meetings with Estonian President Lennart Mery–Vice-Speaker of the Estonian Parliament Tune Kelam–Estonian Foreign Minister Toomas Kheendrik Ilves and members of the Parliamentary Foreign Relations Committee.
