Kocharian to Lead A Delegation to Georgia

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–An Armenian delegation led by President Robert Kocharian will leave for Georgia on a two-day official visit on March 28. The delegation will include National Assembly Vice-Speaker Tigran Torosian–the ministers of foreign affairs–energy–transport and communications–culture–and youth affairs and sport.

The same day Kocharian will hold confidential talks with his Georgian counterpart Eduard Shevardnadze. The members of the Armenian delegation will hold meetings with their Georgian colleagues. Discussions will focus on prospects of developing bilateral relations and regional cooperation. The two presidents will issue a joint declaration as a result of the visit. A press conference is scheduled.

On March 28–the presidents of Armenia and Georgia will hold a meeting with representatives of the local Armenian community and will attend a concert staged by Georgian artists in honor of the Armenian president.

In the afternoon Kocharian and his party will visit the Art Museum of Georgia and will attend the opening of a Sergey Parajanov exhibition.

On March 29–Kocharian is expected to address the Georgian parliament and meet with Patriarch of All Georgia Illya II. The same day–the Armenian president will visit Armenia’s Embassy in Georgia. Later in the evening the delegation will return to Yerevan.
