FEY Executive Assembly to Discuss FNCAY’S Admission

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The executive assembly of the Forum of European Youth (FEY) to be held on April 16 will discuss the membership of the Forum of the National Council of Armenia’s Youth (FNCAY)–FEY Secretariat member Havard Ovregard–who has been in Armenia for several days as a member of the FEY delegation–told a news conference March 27. The delegation is preparing a report on Armenia’s youth organizations.

Ovregard said that after getting acquainted with a number of Armenia’s youth organizations–he was surprised by their effective work–influence and willingness to work. He pointed out that only a small part of Armenia’s youth is involved in these organizations–despite the fact that the organizations defend the interests of young people.

FNCAY Chairman Manvel Badalian reported that becoming a FEY member will enable the FNCAY to participate in developing the youth policy in Europe–cooperate with other FEY member-organizations–implement joint projects–as well as to receive funds from the FEY.

Ovregard pointed out that the FEY’s goal is to become an all-European organization. It should be noted that youth organizations of Georgia and Azerbaijan have already been admitted to the FEY. Among FEY members are also youth organizations of Russia–Latvia–Lithuania–Belarus and Moldova.
