YEREVAN (Armenpress)–An exhibition featuring treasures from the Holy See of Cilicia will open in Germany’s town of Halle on September 2 and will last until November 12. The exhibition will be devoted to 1700th anniversary of Christianity adoption by Armenia’s that is to be marked in 2001.
The exhibition–entitled Saved Treasures of the Holy See of Cilicia–is organized by the Holy See of Cilicia in cooperation with the Art Museum of Saksonia-Anhalt Land and the Martin Luther University. The opening ceremony will be attended by Catholicos of All Armenia’s Garegin II and the head of the Holy See of Cilicia–Catholicos Aram I.
Along with the exhibition an international conference entitled Armenia-2000 will be held from September 3-10 at Martin Luther University under the high sponsorship of both Armenian and German presidents along with the two Armenian Catholicoses.
Upon his return to Lebanon from an official visit to Iran–where he participated in a range of events devoted to 1700th anniversary of Christianity adoption by Armenia’s–Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia Aram I met with the president of Lebanon–General Emil Lahoud August 7.
Among issues discussed were His Holiness’ visit to Iran and the present situation in Lebanon.
