Shevardnadze Wants to Meet Aliyev Kocharian

TBILISI (Noyan Tapan)–During his weekly address on national radio–Georgian president Eduard Shevardnadze announced that during the upcoming unofficial CIS summit in Yalta–he would like to meet with his Russian–Ukrainian–Armenian and Azeri counterparts.

Shevardnadze noted that his intended meetings with Vladimir Putin of Russia–Leonid Kuchma of Ukraine–Robert Kocharian and Haydar Aliyev aim at addressing development of bi-lateral relations.

"It is not important what the upcoming summit will be called–official or unofficial–all such meeting take place in a productive atmosphere," said Shevardnadze.

The said summit is scheduled to begin Friday in Yalta–where Kocharian and Aliyev are also reportedly meeting to address the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process.
