Chukasian Interested in Gathering Armenian Songs from Sebastia

YEREVAN (Armenpress)–An Armenian musician John Chukasian from Fresno–California is looking for Armenian songs and dance music from the town of Sebastia–Turkey.

"I am looking for the songs and dance music of Armenia’s–who lived in Sebastia–which is now in the territory of Turkey and is called Sivaz. Our ancestors who lived there–in the Western Armenia–sang and played these songs. I want to find and maintain this culture for the future Armenian generations," reads his message.

It will be very difficult to find them–as nobody has gathered or registered any of songs in the area. Chukasian promises to cover the expenses concerning collection–reproduction of lyrics or any other related expenses.
