GUMRI (Armenpress)–Hundreds of schoolchildren in Armenia’s province of Shirak will mark the beginning of a new school year in newly constructed or completely reconstructed school buildings.
The construction of new school buildings in the villages of Jajur and Akhurian is finished and they are ready to accept pupils on September 1–the beginning of the school year. On September 21–Armenia’s Independence Day–pupils in the other three villages will step into newly constructed school buildings. In October–schoolchildren in the town of Gumri and the administrative center of the province will move to two new buildings.
One of the schools in Gumri is being built on the finance granted by a US benefactor from John Huntsman from Utah and the second one by the means granted by US Armenian Hovhaness Oyumjian. Three more schools are supposed to be constructed until the end of the year.
