Defense Minister & Greek General Discuss Bilateral Cooperation

YEREVAN (Armenpress)–Armenian Defense Minister Serzh Sarkisian and the visiting chief staff of Greece’s armed forces General Manousos Paraioudakis met on Monday to discuss issues related to the development of the Armenian-Greek military cooperation. They particularly discussed training of Armenian officers at military academies of Greece–formation of a peacekeeping battalion within the Armenian armed forces and prospects for launching cooperation in military-industrial complex.

Armenia’s Defense Minister Sarkisian touched upon the current political-military situation in the region and the approaches of Armenia’s defense ministry to the regional problems and creation of the regional security system.

In the afternoon–General Manousos Paraioudakis visited the Tsitsernakaberd Genocide Memorial and laid a wreath there. He also visited the headquarters of the Armenian Church in Holy Etchmiadzin.
