Syrian Culture Ministry Delegation in Armenia

YEREVAN (Armenpress)–On the invitation of Armenia’s culture–sport and youth issues Minister Roland Sharoyan–a culture ministry delegation of the Arab Republic of Syria–led by minister Maha Kghanuti will be in Yerevan from August 29 to September 5.

The culture ministers of the two countries met on August 30 to discuss their further plans within 2000-2001 Armenian-Syrian cultural cooperation business program–which includes all the branches of art.

According to a preliminary arrangement–an Armenian culture week will be held in Syria this autumn–during which Armenian art will be presented in different towns of Syria.

Sharoyan expressed hope that this cooperation will make the relations and traditions of the two countries closer and deeper. He also noted that taking the difficult financial situation into consideration–the above mentioned projects should come about with not a lot of money. According to the program–Syrian culture days will be organized in Armenia in 2001.
