Chess Players Place Third Fourth in Chess Festival in Abu Dhabi

YEREVAN (Armenpress)–International chess masters Melikset Khachikian and Varuzhan Hakobian of Armenia placed third and fourth among 120 chess-players from 20 countries in an international chess festival held August 26-September 5 in Abu Dhabi–United Arab Emirates.

According to Armenian foreign ministry–Armenian chess-players showed excellent results gaining 6 points out of 9.

The Armenian participants also placed first and second in a speed chess tournament–receiving special prizes.

During the tournament the Armenian chess-players defeated several international grand chess-masters Elmar Mageramov (Azerbaijan)–Roder Matteus (Germany) and Marat Jumaev (Uzbekistan).
