International Scientific Seminar to Be Held in Yerevan

YEREVAN (Armenpress)–A five-day seminar that will focus on Armenia’s scientific potential and its possibilities to integrate into the international scientific community opened in Yerevan–Monday–with the participation of fifty specialists from throughout the world. The seminar is organized by the Armenian Academy of Sciences–the education and science ministry and the International Scientific-Technical Center.

The International Scientific-Technical Center was set up in 1992 at the initiative of the US–European Union–Japan and Russia. Armenia joined it two years later and out of 140 projects submitted by Armenian scientists–50 were approved and later funded. The realization of these projects made it possible to continue research–purchase new equipment and devices and strenghten the scientific potential of the country.
