LOS ANGELES–The Western Prelacy of the Armenian Apostolic Church announced the publication of a new Armenian textbook "Precious Stones," for third- grader level school children. The textbook was made possible with the generous support of the Lincy Foundation.
The new textbook is the fifth in a series of books made available for Armenian kindergarten and elementary school children. Among other books published in the series are "Our Language" for kindergarten level children–"Red Fish–Yellow Fish," a first-grade level book–"The Magical Violin," again for first graders–and "I am Big," for second grade children. Armenian textbooks for other elementary school levels are now in production.
The books in the series are produced with the help of kindergarten and elementary school teachers–and other individuals who have had substantial experience in the field of education.
The Western Prelacy along with the Prelate Bishop Moushegh Mardirossian–commended the hard work and dedication of all those who have contributed to producing the textbooks. These individuals–through their work–show a strong sense of commitment and responsibility in the education of new generations of Armenian children.
