ANC PAC Hosts Fundraiser for Craig Missakian

GLENDALE–The Armenian National Committee – Political Action Committee hosted a fundraiser for ANC-PAC-endorsed candidate for the 43rd State Assembly District Craig Missakian on Thursday–Oct. 5–with the participation of dozens of community members and supporters.

The event–which took place at Glendale’s Verdugo Hills Country Club–attracted a cross-section of the community–including representatives of various organizations. Among such representatives were members of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation Central Committee of Western United States Armenian Relief Society–Homenetmen–Armenian National Committee-Youth and the Armenian Youth Federation.

ANC-PAC member Steve Dadaian thanked the attendees for demonstrating their support for Missakian–who garnered the ANC-PAC endorsement earlier that week–when the decision was announced on the ANC’s weekly live cable hour on Horizon Armenian Television. The ANC-PAC–which had endorsed Missakian in the primary elections–came to its decision–as Dadaian explained–based on Missakian’s positions on Armenian issues–which he also announced during the cable-cast. The master of ceremonies went on to tell the audience that the electoral abilities of the Armenian-American community had reached a new phase–and electing an Armenian-American to represent the community was the next natural step in the political growth of this community.

In introducing Missakian–Dadaian told the audience that it was "up to you now to go out there and make sure that you work hard to get Craig elected–because he is a son of this community–and this is the community that has to elect a representative to office."

Missakian took the stage to the audience’s applause–and thanked Dadaian and the ANC-PAC for their support. In his remarks–Missakian–who had been accompanied by campaign staff members–including Campaign Manager Aram Chaparyan–recognized the important role of the Armenian community in this election cycle–pointing out that each and every individual has a contribution to make to the process.

The candidate went on to give a brief overview of the state of his campaign–urging those in attendance to become involved in the various aspects of the operation. A major part of the campaign–he said–had been the absentee voting process–and the response from the Armenian American community has been excellent. Missakian went on to also ask the attendees to volunteer their time and ask friends and family to do the same–as election day is approaching quickly.

Dadaian–at the conclusion of the evening–thanked the guests and encouraged all to do their best in getting Craig Missakian elected to the 43rd State Assembly seat. In addition–Dadaian updated the audience on the ongoing Armenian Genocide Resolution–urging them to take example from that process and pointed out the importance of electing Armenian Americans to office.
