Armenia’s Debts To WB And IMF Are Not To Be Written Off

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Armenia will not be included in the list of the 20 poorest nations whose debts to the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund are to be written off–Armenia’s Minister of Economy and Finance Levon Barkhudarian told Noyan Tapan. He also added that if Armenia had been included in this list–it would have had a negative impact on the country’s investment rating. The country’s investment rating is more important that the debt that amounts to nearly $1 billion–Barkhudarian concluded.

The issue of writing off the debts of poor nations was discussed at this year’s forum of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund in Prague.
