Aram I to Visit San Francisco Community

The Pontifical Committee of the San Francisco church announced that His Holiness Aram I–Catholicos of the Holy See of Cilicia will be honoring the San Francisco Bay Area Armenian Community with a Pontifical visit on Oct. 23.

Starting at 7 p.m.–a Hrashapar procession will commence and the pontiff will enter St. Gregory the Illuminator Church in San Francisco accompanied by the church choir and Homenetmen Honor Scouts. His Holiness and the attending Clergy will offer canonical prayers after which the faithful will have the opportunity to hear His Holiness’s message and receive his blessings during the Achahampuyer.

The following day–Tuesday–October 24 at 7:30 p.m.–His Holiness Aram I will be the honored guest at the Pontifical Banquet being held at the San Francisco Armenian Community Center- Saroyan Hall.

The Committee is confident that the community will be present in force to greet his Holiness and welcome him to the Bay Area. More importantly the faithful will take advantage of this rare opportunity to enjoy the pontiff’s presence and to receive his fatherly blessings.BY FLORENCE AVAKIAN
