Iraqi Embassy to Open in Yerevan

YEREVAN (Armenpress)–An Iraqi Embassy is scheduled to open in Yerevan by the end of the current year. The recently set up parliamentary committee on Armenian-Iraqi relations which includes representatives from all Parliamentary factions will work to enhance Armenian-Iraqi relations in the areas of the economy–culture and health.

Armenia used to have close contacts with Iraq during the Soviet times. Hundreds of Armenian specialists worked in Iraq helping Iraqi citizens in construction of major industrial enterprises. Armenia will be participating in an international exhibition of foodstuffs to be held in Baghdad from November 1 to 10.
