Armenian Mass Media Divided into Two Camps

YEREVAN (Armenpress)– "The Armenian mass media must act as a means for preventing ethical violations–but sometimes it finds itself as the subject of certain ethical violations." Such went a statement given by the chairman of Armenian Constitutional Court Gagik Harutunian at an international conference for Journalists against Violation and Terrorism which concluded today in Yerevan.

In Harutunian’s words–ethical violations in Armenia can be explained by a number of factors–such as ideological and institutional uncertainty–the huge influence of the public’s subjective behavior–as well as a disintegrated legislative body and problems among governmental leaders.
