YEREVAN (Armenpress)–A three-month long cooperation agreement was signed between the Union of Armenian Libraries and the executive director of US Florida Library Information Network Tom Slown on October 27. Slown had arrived in Yerevan at the invitation of US embassy to Armenia to get acquainted with local library activities.
According to Nerses Hayrapetian–the deputy director of the Armenian National Library–the US side intends to provide advanced equipment that will help establish an online connection between Yerevan’s several big libraries.
Slown visited the Yerevan Children’s Library after Khnko Aper–which he said was a nice one and promised to help enrich the library’s book-store. The US expert also gave several lectures in a number of local libraries on how to run libraries.
