Day Camp in Karabakh Dedicated to 110th Anniversary of ARF

YEREVAN (Yerkir)–The Armenian Youth Federation of Karabakh organized a three day camp outing for AYF members throughout Karabakh. This is the first ever such event–which was held in honor of the 110th anniversary celebration of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation. The event was held at Gargar Camp in Stepanakert.

Over 70 youth from all parts of Karabakh had the opportunity to make new friends from different parts of the republic. The opening of this historic event began with the singing of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation anthem–during which the flags of Armenia–Karabakh and the ARF were raised.

After the opening of the camp–Karabakh ARF Central Committee representative K. Hairabedian–Central Committee member and AYF liaison Serge Amirkhanian–Karabakh National Assembly ARF party member–V. Palayan–S. Sargsyan who is in charge of youth affairs for the Karabakh Ministry of Culture and Karabakh Youth Organization Executive A. Tahmazian all took turns speaking and welcoming the campers.

Educationals were held during the three days on the topics of "Hai Tahd,"The ARF in Karabakh,"The Internal Politics of Karabakh and the Role of the ARF,"The Birth and Ideology of the ARF," along with lectures on other important topics.

Each of the days was dedicated to one of the three founders of the ARF–Kristapor Mikaelian–Simon Zavarian–and Rosdom.

Besides the educational events–each day also included athletics and games. On the final day a quiz bowl was held on the history of the ARF and material discussed during the course of the educationals.

On the last day 45 youngsters pledged their oath and became members of the Karabakh Youth Organization.

At the end of the three day session–representatives of the ARF Karabakh Youth Organization promised to organize such events in the future in order to bring the youth together from all parts of Karabakh.
