Finland Interested in Active Cooperation With Armenia

YEREVAN (ARMENPRESS)–Armenian Parliament Speaker Armen Khachatrian met with Finland’s Ambassador to Armenia–Anty Christinie–who concluded his seven-year diplomatic tenure in Armenia.

On January 11–President Robert Kocharian held a meeting with the outgoing ambassador along with Armenia’s Ambassador to Finland Vladimir Karmirshalian. The ambassador thanked the Armenian authorities for their support and said he spent effective and pleasant years in Armenia. Expressing confidence that Armenia has great potential for development–the Finnish diplomat said that his country is interested in closer cooperation with Armenia.

Both sides prioritized the development of bilateral economic relations and the formation of necessary legislation. President Kocharian expressed confidence that the upcoming visit of the Armenian foreign minister to Scandinavia will be a serious impetus to the development of cooperation with these countries

Parliament Speaker Khachatrian gave an official invitation to his Finnish counterpart to visit Armenia. He is sure that the opening of the Armenian embassy in Helsinki will promote active development of bilateral relations.
