A committee of broad concern–the International Relations Committee also has jurisdiction over intervention abroad and declarations of war.

"Serving on the House International Relations Committee was one of my top priorities and I look forward to supporting efforts to foster international trade and commerce–to increase respect for human rights and to strengthen American interests abroad. Membership on the International Relations Committee will also give me the opportunity to champion issues I have worked on aggressively in the past–such as an end to runaway production in the film industry and official U.S. recognition of the Armenian Genocide," said Congressman Schiff.

"His efforts to serve on this important Committee reflects his enduring commitment to his Armenian American constituents."

The 27th Congressional District of California includes Glendale–Burbank–Pasadena–South Pasadena–San Marino–La Canada-Flintridge–Sunland-Tujunga and the unincorporated communities of La Crescenta and Altadena.
