STEPANAKERT (Armenpress)–A Karabakh delegation–led by Prime Minister Anoushavan Daniyelian–left for Paris on February 2. The delegation includes presidential adviser Janna Galstian and Minister of Finances Spartak Tevosian.
The week-long visit’s purpose is to develop economic ties. Upon arrival–Daniyelian and Spartak Tevosian met with 35 French businessmen–including those of Armenian origin.
The Karabakh premier introduced the economic situation–tax system and the reforms carried out–as well as the favorable conditions–created by the government for attracting foreign investmen’s. The entrepreneurs expressed interest in investing in the Karabakh economy–in particular–production of hydroelectric energy–meat products–etc. For more thorough study of those issues–an agreement on establishing regular contacts between the businessmen and the Karabakh representation in France was achieved.
Presidential Adviser Janna Galstian held a press conference for the representatives of the Armenian media in France. At the conference–issues related to the prospects of the Karabakh conflict settlement–repatriation of refugees–postwar rehabilitation of the republic–were mainly touched upon.
The same evening–the Karabakh delegation was received by Andre Santini–mayor of Ici-le-Moulineau. The possibilities of establishing cooperation between the mayor’s office and Nagorno-Karabakh were discussed.
At a meeting with the representatives of the local Armenian community Mr. Santini handed the honorable order of the town of Ici-le-Moulineau to Anoushavan Daniyelian. On February 3–the Karabakh delegation spoke on the local Armenian radio program–introducing to the listeners the internal political and social-economic situation in the republic–the process of democratization of the society and consolidation of law and order.
