Armenian Patriarch of Istanbul Meets With Turkish Leadership

ISTANBUL (Marmara)–Armenian Partriarch of Istanbul Mesrob Mutafyan left for Ankara on Tuesday February 13 to meet with Turkish leaders. Mutafyan was scheduled to meet with Turkish President Ahmet Necdet Sezer for the first time–to discuss Turkish views on Armenian issues.

The Patriarch alo met with Turkish parliamentarians and Turkish Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit. Later in the day–Mutafyan was to visit Turkish Chief of General Staff Huseyin Kivrikoglu.
