Armenian Jewelers Association Celebrates Valentine’s Day With Successful Dinner Dance

The Armenian Jewelers Association Western Region Chapter organized their second dinner-dance this year on Sunday–February 11 at the Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles. The event’s attendees included Los Angeles based jewelers–company owners–and high ranking city officials all totaling to about 350 people.

The Armenian Jewelers Association Western Region Chapter’s founder and president is S. & A. Kitsinian Inc. owner Sarkis A. Kitsinian–who is also the vice-president in the International Armenian Jewelers Association Central Executive. The Central Executive is comprised of Shant Haytayan (vice-president)–Peklar Pilavjian (Secretary)–Kevork Chakarian (Treasurer)–Kevork Antounian–Kevork Atmajian–Hagop Boyamian–Joseph Kherloubian–Mardig Oruncakciel–Vahan Takvorian–Levon Vartanian–Vahe Urion and Hagop Yermagyan.

The program commenced with Peklar Pilavjian’s opening remarks. After the American and Armenian national anthems–founder Sarkis Kitsinian spoke and thanked the sponsors and guest dignitaries.

Also speaking at the dinner-dance were City Attorney James Hahn–District Attorney Steve Cooley–and Consul General of the Republic of Armenia Valeri Mkrtoumian. They all praised the Los Angeles jeweler community for their contribution and imput in local and regional business trade development.

This year–the Association honored the following two people who have benefited the Armenian community with their service. First–Jirair Sarkisian for his dedication to Homenetmen and second–Stepan Kabadayan for his service toward Glendale’s Saint Mary Church and itsaffiliated schools Chamlian and Tufenkian.

The association also honored Kevork Nalbandian–Micheal Boghosian and Alishan Haleblian for their outstanding work in design.
