Anniversary of Soumgait Tragedy Commemorated in Karabakh

STEPANAKERT (Armenpress)–The anniversary of the tragic massacres that took place in the Azerbaijani town of Soumgait against the Armenia’s was commemorated in the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic on February 28.

Chairman of the Karabakh National Assembly Oleg Yessayan–members of the Republic’s parliament and government–army officers and public representatives came to the Stepanakert Memorial Complex to commemorate the innocent victims of the 1988 massacre.

Hundreds of people laid flowers on the monument and the priests of the Artsakh Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church served a mourning liturgy.
