ARF Welcomes New Members

PASADENA–Twelve new members joined the ran’s of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) in a ceremony held on Saturday–June 2 at the Armenian Center of Pasadena. The new members were introduced by Mistress of Ceremonies Ani Bereberian.

The ceremony was performed by ANC-Fresno representative Apo Saghdejian–who reminded the new members that being a part of the ARF entails a huge responsibility–including the strengthening of democracy in Armenia–the settlement of the Karabakh conflict–the preservation of the Diaspora–and furthering the efforts of the Armenian National Committee. "The ARF needs young individuals like yourselves–so that these efforts can be realized," said Saghdejian. The fact that they would be tomorrow’s leaders was also emphasized by Saghdejian.

ARF Western USA Central Committee representative Viken Yacoubian spoke of the importance of the occasion in the lives of the new members. Yacoubian mentioned how the new members would dedicate their lives to the ARF’s ideology and the Armenian Cause.

The new members were each presented with a copy of the newly released second volume of the ARF Album-Atlas.

A reception–organized by the ARF "Lernavyr" chapter of Pasadena–followed the ceremony. Close to 250 people attended the celebration which featured singers Ara Shahbazian and Karnig Sarkissian.
