ARS Western Region Elects New Executive Board

HOUSTON–The Armenian Relief Society Western Regional Convention concluded its activities Sunday by electing a new Regional Executive. The convention also elected delegates–who will represent the region at the upcoming 67th ARS International Convention–scheduled to be held in Beirut between Oct. 8 and 12.

The Regional Convention–which convened Thursday at Houston’s Adam’s Mark hotel–elected Sonia Peltekian–Nvart Mouradian–Seda Khodjaian–Ani Keshishian and Sosi Djabrayan as the new members of the executive. The newly-elected members will join remaining board members Haigouhi Seropian–Seta Tarpinian–Angela Savoyan and Sirarpi Chakalian.

The new executive already chose its officers as follows:

Sonia Peltekian–chairwoman; Angela Savoyan–Co-chairwoman; Haigouhi Seropian–Secretary; and Seta Tarpinian–treasurer.

The Regional Executive also elected outgoing chairwoman Maro Chalian-Read and long-time ARS leader Anahid Meymarian as delegates to the 67th International Convention.
