Agriculture Department Assists Armenian Companies

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–At the "ArmProdExpo-2001" exhibition held in June the "Van 777" company presented four selections of wine–all winning gold medals.

In the near future–15,000 bottles of the wine "Tupsha" will be supplied to the Moscow market. The supply contract was signed with the marketing support program implemented by the US Department of Agriculture. Director of the "Van 777" company Migran Manaserian said that under the contract–four other wine-making enterprises will supply 15,000 bottles of their product to Moscow as well.

The "Van 777" company mastered the production of wine in 1996–when it was able to purchase 50 tons of grapes on the grant issued by the US Department of Agriculture. The wine was first bottled in 1999. On a loan received from the US Department of Agriculture–the company was able to purchase 200 tons of grapes–organized production–and bottled the wine.

During the fist two years of its inception–the company produced the dry–red–table wine "Tupsha," and later it mastered the productions of other wines.

The company plans to increase the volume of purchase this year–hoping for another loan from the US Department of Agriculture.
