Prelacy Enlists Rev. Chobanian to Enhance Spiritual Education

LOS ANGELES–The Western Prelacy of the Armenian Apostolic Church announced that His Holiness Aram I–Catholicos of the Holy See of Cilicia has dispatched Rev. Mashdots Chobanian to the Western Region–to assist the Prelacy in its mission of guiding the community’s spiritual needs.

Rev. Chobanian arrived in Los Angeles Friday–for his three-month tenure–which was arranged at the request of the Prelacy Executive Council.

The reverend is the deputy director of the Christian Education Department of the Cilician Catholicosate–as well as the spiritual advisor to the Armenian Student Association of the Armenian Apostolic Church.

At the request of Western Prelate Bishop Moushegh Mardirossian–Rev. Chobanian’s mission will have three primary objectives: to organize a workshop for requalifying of clergy; enhance efforts for preparation of Sunday School instructors and to monitor bible studies and create mechanisms for furthering that process.

The Prelate–as well as the Executive and Religious councils of the Western Prelacy welcomed Rev. Chobanian and wished his success in his endeavors.
