Hilda Saliba Appointed Mesrobian Principal

LOS ANGELES–The Board of Regents of the Prelacy Armenian Schools Tuesday announced the appointment of Hilda Saliba as the new principal of the Mesrobian Armenian School.

Saliba–with a Bachelors degree in psychology from the University of Southern California–was in charge of the establishment of the Armenian Relief Society’s Counseling Center and worked as a counselor at the Victory Adult Center in Glendale from 1998 to 2000. During the 2000-2001 academic year Hilda Saliba worked at the Mesrobian Armenian School as a guidance counselor.

"Because of her background in psychology and counseling–Hilda Saliba clearly comprehends the social–cultural and educational issues confronting the new generation and always presents a professional and positive attitude in dealing with those issues. We are confident that her communication skills with students and their parents–coupled with her organizational experience–will greatly contribute to her success at this new position," said Board of Regents chairman Armand Keosian–Esq.

"Mesrobian Armenian School is the heart beat of our Montebello community–which for more than 35 years has integrated all the various community elemen’s into one. We urge that the community–with renewed enthusiasm and faith–rally around the new principal and school committees in order to continue the advancement of the Armenian spirit at Mesrobian," added Keosian.

In its announcement issued Tuesday–the Board of Regents congratulated Hilda Saliba on her appointment and wished her success in her new endeavor.
