Community Center Opens in Yerevan

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–A center providing free legal consultations will be opened in the Shengavit community of Yerevan soon. The goal of the program is to ensure the participation of citizens in solving the community’s problems. A telephone of trust will be installed at the center–and there will be a "roundtable" for establishing business ties with local authorities.

According to "Eurasia" Foundation Armenia Office Director Artashes Ghazakhetsian–a grant of approximately $18,000 has been allocated for the implementation of this program.

In Ghazakhetsian’s opinion–local government bodies are not always in a position to solve all problems that emerge in small communities and in this particular case the center will help solve current problems and will ensure the protection of legal rights and social interests of the community.
