Amoyan Becomes Junior World Champion of Wrestling

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Armenian athletes participated in the Junior World Championship competitions of Graeco-Roman wrestling held in Tashkent–Uzbekistan.

Roman Amoyan from Yerevan became the champion of the category of wrestlers up to 50 kg. Robert Petrossian from Etchmiadzin (97 kg) made it to the finals but unfortunately he was beaten and was awarded the silver medal.

In the team competition–Armenia finished 4th among the 51 competing nations. Freestyle wrestler Garsevan Vardanian from Artashat (up to 76 kg) won a bronze medal.
