Yardemian Declares Candidacy for Crescenta Valley Water District

LA CRESCENTA–Crescenta Valley Town Council member Vasken Yardemian announced his intentions to run for Valley Water District General elections which will be held on Tuesday–November 6–2001. CVWD is a local government agency similar to School District that is led by a five-member elected Board of Directors. The agency is responsible in providing its service area with adequate and reliable supplies of high-quality water to over 32,000 customers. CVWD’s service covers most of the unincorporated areas of La Crescenta and Montrose–parts of Glendale and La Canada Flintridge in Los Angeles.

"I am seeking election to the Water Board because of my strong interest in water issues in our community" said Yardemian. "Water is one of the precious resources that affect our quality of life in Crescenta Valley. It is essential that the Water Board has a representative with strong education and professional experience. My engineering background and knowledge of the problems confronting the Water Board will complement the talents of the other Board Members," concluded Yardemian.

Council Member Yardemian has been long active in both communities of La Crescenta and Pasadena. he has been elected to the Crescenta Valley Town Council in 1998. Served Council President in 1999. Yardemian has served on various technical advisory bodies – Planning Commission–Slow Growth Initiative Task Force and Housing Relocation Appeals Board. Currently–Yardemian is an Environmental Engineer at the South Coast Air Quality Management District for the past fourteen years. He graduated from CSULA in Civil Engineering. He and his family attend Armenian Congregational Church in Los Angeles. He is an active member of the Armenian National Committee–La Crescenta Chapter–previously in Pasadena. He is also a board member of the Armenian Engineers and Scientists of America and serves on its Environmental Committee.
