International Symposium On Sculpture Opened in Armenia

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The official ceremonial opening of the International Symposium on Sculpture was held in Victory park in Yerevan on September 4.

Seven sculptors from Great Britain–Germany–Russia–Ukraine–Georgia–Japan–and Karabakh arrived in Yerevan to participate in the symposium–which is part of the celebrations of the 1700th anniversary of Christianity in Armenia. During the next 45 days they will create their sculptures depicting Christian topics. All 19 sculptures will be set up in the central parks in Yerevan–on Ring Boulevard–and the participants will receive $700.

Vice-Chairman of the Commission for Preparations for the Celebrations of the 1700th Anniversary Christianity in Armenia Khosrov Harutiunian–Yerevan Mayor Robert Nazarian–other officials–and foreign guests all attended the opening ceremonies.
