NEW YORK/WASHINGTON–Sources in epicenters of Tuesday’s attack reported that Armenian institutions in New York and Washington were unharmed and personnel and community members were safe–following the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.
Armenia’s Ambassador to the United Nations Movses Abelian reported that the Armenian mission at the UN was unharmed–but staffers were evacuated during the day–as events unfolded.
The Prelacy and Diocese also reported that their headquarters were unaffected–and both Prelate Oshagan Choloyan and Primate Khajag Barsumian were unharmed.
Similar encouraging news was reported from Washington–as Aram Hamparian–Executive Director of the Armenian National Committee of America informed Asbarez that all staffers of the officer were safe. Also unharmed was the Armenian Embassy complex in Washington–with Ambassador Armand Kirakossian reported to be safe.
