Bush Congratulates Armenia On Independence Day

YEREVAN (Armenpress)–US Ambassador to Armenia Michael Lemmon met with President Robert Kocharian on Thursday to convey President George Bush’s congratulatory message for the 10th Anniversary of Independence in Armenia. The message says:

"I would like to convey my best wishes and congratulations to all Armenia’s on behalf of the people of the US on the occasion of the Independence Day of Armenia.

This year the Independence Day coincides with the 1700th anniversary of Christianity adoption in Armenia. Thanks to the unbreakable soul of Armenia’s their culture–religion and independence developed during years. Our countries will continue to work together to reach our common purpose of peace–stability and development of Armenia. The establishment of peace in this region will give Armenian people an enormous opportunity to ensure future generations’ economic prosperity and security.

The US has special relations with Armenia–owing to the more than 1 million American-Armenia’s–who make their contributions to the development of the US. I am sure that the friendship and cooperation between Armenia and the United States will become closer and deeper."

According to the president’s press office–Robert Kocharian once again expressed condolences on behalf of all Armenia’s on the tragic events in the US. He said that terrorism has no limits today and should be prevented by all possible means. As Kocharian said–Armenia is ready to contribute to rescue efforts.
