More Than 5000 attend Tata Concert

LOS ANGELES–More than 5000 spectators were present at famous Armenian singer Tata’s concert–which took place on October 21–at the Universal Amphitheater.

The concert which was organized by Horizon TV and SHARM company of Armenia–became a unique phenomenon in terms of youth preferences–which at this point were all turned into one.

Disregarding the post September 11 fears and concerns–Tata managed to perform a unique show and entertain everybody who ventured out of their homes and into the Universal Amphitheater.

Tata Simonian is a young Armenian entertainer–who in a short period of time has managed to win over the hearts of Armenia’s all around the world. His band included Arthur Asryan on keyboards–Garo Sarafyan on lead guitar–Gagik Toroyan on bass guitar and David Ohanjanyan on drums–all of whom are from Yerevan. However–unfortunately two members of his band Ara Torosyan and Lilit Markarian were not present at the Los Angeles concert. Tata’s producer is Grigor Nazarian–director of SHARM. The concert was coordinated by Jerry’ Sound–Advertising was provided by Vigen Khachatourian–the graphic design was made by Eyedeal Creative Works–and the stage manager was Harry Vorperian.

Famous Armenian Comedian Chuko entertained the audience until Tata’s two and a half hour performance–which made almost everybody there get on their feet and dance. Several musicians from the Armenian community of Los Angeles participated as well including dancer Kristine Petrosian–Vladimir Grigorian on the kamancha–Suren Mehrapian on the saz and Ruben Harutyunian played the duduk.

Tata performed songs from both his old albums as well as new songs which will be featured in his upcoming album.

The excellent sound of the Universal Amphitheater and the special stage ligthing contributed greatly to the success of the show–turning it into a true celebration.

The principle sponsor of the concert was the Pasha Restaurant–however–other sponsors included Meher and Satig Der Ohanessian–www.GBH.com–Charter Communications–Metro Lending Services–Carousel Restaurant–Vernon Travel–Remedy Pharmacy–the Law Offices of Asbet Issakhanian and the Law Offices of Ashod Mooradian.
