Holy Martyrs Church Raises $65 000

ENCINO–Sponsored by Northern America’s Western Prelate Moushegh Mardirossian and chaired by Mr. and Mrs. Tony and Eileen Keoseians–a special event took place on October 27 at Ferrahian’s Avedissian auditorium marking the 38th anniversary of Holy Martyrs Church.

The Secretary of the Church Board of Trustees Hovsep Boujakjian expressed his gratitude toward Keoseian family for their donation and pointed out the projects of the Board of Trustees which include for the construction of Ferrahian School’s first facility for which the Board donated a generous $150,000–as well as the acquisition of the property adjacent to the church. Hovsep Boujakjian concluded that regardless of other outstanding projects–the Board of Trustees will begin the renovation of the church in near future.

Prelate Moushegh Mardirossian thanked the organizers of the event–mentioning the significance of the church as an inseparable part of every Armenians life. He added that the more we donate–the more God will help us to succeed.

Master of ceremony Khachik Titizian also acknowledged and thanked those who continuously contribute to church.

The evening was made especially pleasing with the performance of singer Raffi Khardalian and his band. The enthusiastic atmosphere lead many to contribute money and by the end of the evening–$65,000 was raised.

On October 28–a special mass marked the Church’s Anniversary. Prelate Moushegh Mardirossian lead the mass together with priest Razmig Khachadurian–in the church court yard. The prelate blessed the memory of all those who have served the Valley community in different levels and fields.

The mass was followed by a requiem in remembrance of those who have contributed to Holy Martyrs throughout the years and who have passed. The event was concluded at the Avedissian Hall Were the Ladies Guild prepared a special Madagh for the churchgoers.
