Alik Newspaper Marks 70th Anniversary in Iran

TEHRAN–Alik daily newspaper celebrated its 70th anniversary–which took at the Armenian Club of Tehran.

The newspaper–which was established thanks to the assistance of Iranian-Armenian community–has a 70-year publication history.

After Seda Davtian–the Editor-in-Chief welcomed everybody–Sargis Kirakosian–Assistant Editor of Bagin monthly–spoke–stressing the political and ideological contributions of Alik–which has preserved its identity and is continuously following up the same pledge throughout the past 70 years.

On the observance of the 70th anniversary several individuals as well as former employees including Arsen Mamian–George Martirosian–Nazar Shahverdian and former Editor-in -Chief Norayr Elsayan were recognized for their significant contributions to the newspaper. Later–the true mission of the newspaper was revealed–stating that Alik has always been with Armenia through its trouble times and it has always listened to the voice of the Diaspora

The celebrations were also participated by the Tehran Prelate Bishop Seboiuh Sarkissian–Isfahan Prelate Archbishop Goryun Babian–Armenian Ambassador to Iran Gegham Gharibjanian–publisher of Alik newspaper Albert Ajemian as well as former editor of Alik Youth–poet Varand.

The Editorial staff of Asbarez also congratulates Alik–a major representative of Diaspora media on the occasion of its 70th anniversary and wishes Alik further success in its honest mission of preserving the Armenian identity within the Armenian community of Iran.
