ARF Reps Meet with Evangelical Leaders

LOS ANGELES–An Armenian Revolutionary Federation Western US Central Committee delegation–comprised of Viken Yacoubian–Avetis Ispenjian and Harout Manoukian met with representatives of the Armenian Evangelical Community leaders Rev. Ron Tovmasian (Chairman of Los Angeles Religious Council)–Rev. Abraham Chaparian (Pastor of the Hollywood Armenian Evangelical Church) and Rev. Joe Mateosian (Pastor at Emmanuel Armenian Community Church).

The meeting took place in the United Armenian Congregational Church office on Cahuenga Boulevard in Universal City on Nov. 6.

The participants discussed issues that concern the community–particularly the need a cooperative and efficient community.

The sides also discussed the issue of enhancing national identity and the role of the Evangelical Community regarding youth issues.

The ARF representatives expressed their willingness to provide any assistance necessary to the Evangelical community. The Evangelical representatives expressed their readiness to collaborate and their utmost respect to ARF–stressing its important role in the community.

The church community representatives also expressed their concerns regarding various issues and asked the ARF representatives for their assistance in such matters.

The meeting was beneficial for both sides–and the participants decided to continue the trend of dialogue.
