YEREVAN (Armenpress)–The government of Armenia plans to open embassies in Japan and Uzbekistan in the first half of 2002–according to foreign affairs minister Vartan Oskanian.
Oskanian said the President Robert Kocharian will officially announce the decision to open an embassy in Tokyo during his visit to Japan–in late December of this year.
Oskanian said Japan is very interested in the South Caucasus region–and is currently implementing a number of both credit and grant-supported projects in Armenia.
