Karabakh Minister of Culture Visits France

STEPANAKERT (Noyan Tapan)–Minister of Culture–Youth and Sport Affairs of Karabakh–Armen Sarkissian went to France–where he met with cultural workers and representatives of political and public organizations to sign a number of agreemen’s.

Sarkissian said that the Karabakh soccer team was invited to Paris in 2002–and the Karabakh State Dance Ensemble was invited to Marselle to participate in the 2003 French Cultural Festival. One of the best French film directors of Armenian descent–is supposed to visit Karabakh next year to introduce the production of "Forty days of Musa-Dagh," Franz Werfel’s novel–to the Karabakh spectators. The minister also said that an agreement has also been reached on sending Karabakh actors to France to study acting.
