Azeri Villagers Convert to Christianity

BAKU (Armenpress) Baku-based Yeni Musavat daily reported that 30 residents in the village of Aliabad in the Zaqatala District in northwestern Azerbaijan converted to Christianity. They applied to the notary’s office in the district court to seek approval of their new status.

The daily says crosses were distributed in Aliabad village four or five years ago to propagate Christianity. Those who converted to Christianity also want to build a church in the village.

The majority of residents in the village of Aliabad are Muslims and speak Georgian.
