Armenia’s Philharmonic Awards Prizes

YEREVAN (Armenpress)–The Armenian State Philharmonic performed 259 concerts for an audience of more than half million people during its 2001 tour. Every year Armenian artists and different cultural groups are awarded prizes by the Armenian State Philharmonic.

A special prize was given to Shushan Petrossian for maintaining the art of Armenian song. Nune Yessayan was awarded best female singer and Papin Poghosian named best male singer. Jivan Gasparian was named best musician–Robert Amirkhanian best composer and Ashot Ghazarian was named the best comedian of the year.

Vartuhi Vardanian and Alla Levonian were named best variety singers of the year. The composer and producer Arthur Grigorian was awarded a special prize for preparing and carrying out modern variety programs.
